Photography

I take photographs whenever I get the chance, however, the time I am investing in that is getting less and less. I was sponsored by a professional travel magazine ‘Atlas’ in Turkey (i.e. the biggest competitor of National Geographic in Turkey!) for three expeditions. I published three photo-articles after the expeditions in India’s tropical evergreen forests, and in Costa Rica’s rainforests. One of my photographs appeared in collection of “Hundred Photographs of Atlas”. I have also published two more articles (one with my photographs) in the joint journal Mobidik for young explorers.

The magazine also featured me as their photojournalist thrice:

“Ten years of Atlas” – April 2003; 121: 42-66.

“On assignment: Aysegul in the forest” – November 2002; 116: 179 (and also on editorial on page 8 of the same issue).

“Two trousers, one t-shirt” -  can’t remember the date!

Popular photo-articles:

Cave diving

I am (now honorary) member of Subaqua Society, Middle East Technical University since 1992, and Underwater Research Society/Cave Diving Research Group since 1994. I was involved in deep sea diving and cave diving expeditions during 1992 to 1999, and I was also a diving instructor of the society during 1994 to 1999; trained open water, and advanced open water divers, and attended several cavern diving trainings as a dive master. I also worked as dive master in diving centers in Bodrum (summers of 1993 and 1996), and in Marmaris (summer of 1995).
